Congressman Walz Awarded | News
Minnesota Congressman Tim Walz was honored for his dedication to helping area veterans.
At Soldier's Field Wednesday morning, Walz was awarded the "Legislator of the Year Award" on behalf of the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers.
Walz says he's deeply humbled by the honor.
"The people of Southern Minnesota as I said we may debate a lot of issues and have a lot of differences on different ways of doing things, there's no doubt on care for our veterans. They want to see it get done," he says.
Walz is the highest ranking enlisted soldier to serve in Congress after serving in the Army National Guard for 24 years.
