Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Experts believe over the next decade, the city of Rochester will have 8,000 to 10,000 new jobs.
Many of those jobs are in industries that use science, technoly, engineering, and math.
That's why the Rochester Chamber of Commerce held it's STEM Summit today.
More than 60 STEM related companies set up displays for nearly 2,000 kids.
Students came from 26 area high schools.
"This is all about work force. We know our work force needs are growing. We know that we're going to have unfulfilled jobs in the future and a lot of them falling in the science, technology, engineering and math fields," Rochester Chamber of Commerce Education and Development Manager Jessi Strinmoen says.
The chamber says events like this are important not just for students, but also business owners.
The group says over the next few years, managers who need skilled workers will be fighting for employees.
