Fines for Invasive Species Double
If you forget to clean off your boat after being on the water, and there are invasive species attached to it, you can expect to pay more.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is doubling the fines for transporting watercrafts with attached aquatic plants.
That fine will go from $50 to $100.
The fine for possessing, or transporting a prohibited invasive species, such as zebra mussles, will now be $500.
The change will go into effect July 1st.
