African Development Center Opens in Rochester | Arts & Culture
The new African Development Center of Minnesota opened in Rochester with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The ceremony was held by the Chamber of Commerce as they welcomed the group into the community.
Currently there are 3 other African Development Centers run by this group.
The 1st started in Minneapolis back in 2004.
Since then the group has helped thousands of people assimilate into society.
"It's through community economic development and that is business lending, housing, first time home buyer training and financial education. We work with communities to help themselves for a better life," ADC Executive Director Hussein Samatar
The center is currently teaming up with the Chamber of Commerce in order to do a business survey.
The survey will show how the center can best help members in the community.
The results will be posted sometime this summer.
