Olmsted County Deputies Pleased with St. Patty’s Day Enforcement | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
On the 2nd worst DWI night of the year (the worst being the 4th of July), Olmsted County Deputies are happy to see low numbers.
During their extra enforcement period only 3 DWI arrests were made.
One of them was a 2nd degree offense where the vehicle was seized.
Deputies attribute these low numbers to the ongoing outreach and education efforts from local departments.
It’s a trend that’s being seen statewide.
Minnesota State Patrol made just over 40 arrests statewide this year.
It’s significantly lower than last year’s extra enforcement.
Numbers from other departments are still being counted.
