Kasson Votes on Future of Community Pool | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
On Tuesday night voters in Kasson will decide the future of their community pool.
Built in 1937, the pool has been a valuable part of the community for 75 years.
It is now in desperate need of repair or replacement.
The two options are a $1.4 million renovation or a $3.1 million upgrade.
The upgrade would feature a state of the art aquatic center with a capacity of 550 swimmers.
“We'll have two bodies of water in which we'll have a plunge area, a driving area and a lap area. Then in the other side of the body we'll have the two slides that come in,” Park and Rec Department Director Ron Unger says.
Both plans have gathered numerous supporters from the community.
Some are even posting signs on their property urging residents to get out and vote.
