Police: Victim Missing Part of Ear

Everyone knows Super Bowl week can get crazy, but in this instance that craziness allegedly spread to just outside Dooley's Pub in downtown Rochester.

Police say John McDonald, of North Dakota, got into a fight shortly after the Super Bowl ended and that he may have bitten off a piece of the victim's ear.

Authorities say the fight began when McDonald's father got into an altercation with a woman outside the pub. They say the victim attempted to intercede, which is when McDonald allegedly became involved.

"What's a little unique or different about this assault is that one of the individuals, during the course of the assault was, reported that he was bit in the ear and his ear was torn and/or a small piece was missing. I'm not exactly sure what the medical results are, if it was just torn or missing, but he did receive a bite wound to his ear," said Captain Brian Winters.

Rochester Police say McDonald is looking at felony charges including 3rd and 5th degree assault. He's expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
