Burglaries, Vehicle Prowling Concerns in Dodge County | Crime

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is reporting a high number of burglaries and vehicle prowlers. In the past year, over 100 reports have come in for such crimes.

Sheriff Jim Jensen says thieves are taking scrap metal from farm and selling it at salvage yards. In busier areas, prowlers are stealing valuables from unlocked vehicles and garages.

"The scrap iron thefts, the burglaries in rural areas mostly are for funding drug habits," said Jensen.

Jensen says any suspicious activity should be reported. Details such as a description of the suspect, a vehicle used by that person and the license plate number are always helpful to authorities.
