Discovered Crash Leads to Burglary Investigation | Crime

Olmsted County Deputies are looking for the man who hit an electrical pole near Rochester.

It happened around 2:45 AM Thursday morning on County Road 34 just outside of Rochester.

Deputies say the driver lost control taking a turn on the road.

A deputy discovered the accident when he drove by and saw a car in the ditch.

Inside were hundreds of dollars of model trains.

Officials say the owner of those trains was listening to a police scanner at the time.

That’s when he called in and reported them stolen to the Dodge County Sheriff’s office.

The vehicle and trains have been seized by the Olmsted County Sheriff’s office.

Officials are still looking for the suspect.
