New Electronic Pull Tabs Arrive In Rochester

New Electronic Pull Tabs Arrive In Rochester

The new electronic pull-tabs are now in Rochester. The digital gambling is expected to help pay for the new Vikings stadium, but will the game be successful? We stopped by Rochester’s Recreation Lanes which is the first location in all of Southeast Minnesota to get the new tabs.

The state is hoping residents like, Leola Wolfgram, play the game. However, Wolfgram enjoys nothing more than throwing a strike at the bowling alley, which is why it took a little convincing to pull the 87-year-old over to a pair of iPads so she could try out the new electronic pull-tabs. The bar allowed us to test the iPads out by putting ten dollars in each one. As the colorful screens lit up, Leona wasn't impressed. Each iPad offers five different pull-tab games, including a jungle game which Leona chose to play. Bets are either one or two dollars so winning more than that is always nice.

"Oh! Three dollars," says Leona. "It looked better than that."

Keb' Mo' presented by Riverside Live!

Keb' Mo' presented by Riverside Live!

Keb Mo is a three–time Grammy Award winner for Best Contemporary Blues Album; and a key figure in the acclaimed 2003 PBS series Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues. But The Reflection is not, in essence, a blues album. In sound and spirit, it’s closer to the work of African–American "folk soul" singer/songwriters like Bill Withers, Bobby Womack, and Terry Callier. He'll perform at the Mayo Civic Center Friday, September 7th at 7:30. Tickets range from $24.00 to $31.00.
