Growing Mustaches for Cancer Awareness

(ABC 6 NEWS) – If you've noticed a flurry of facial hair in the past month, there's a good reason for it.

It's part of an international movement meant to raise money and awareness of men's cancer, and some students and faculty at Winona State University are taking part.

Call it what you want...

"Mo is slang for mustache," said WSU Student Michael Henderson.

"You've got your upper lip caterpillar," said WSU Student Parker Roenfanz.

Fashionable Flood Fundraiser

You can help flood victims while being fashionable. Premier Designs, a jewlery line, and Thirty-One, a gift company, are offering part of their proceeds to those affected by flooding. Items were sold Monday night at Dooley's Pub in Rochester. If you couldn't make that sale, you can still purchase items this week, and part of the profits will go to flood relief.

Trollbeds Trunk Show

Collections Fashions will host a Trunk Show Tuesday, September 28th through Thursday, September 30th. The entire silver and glass collection will be on display.

The Trollbeads Charm Collection was designed more than 30 years ago in Denmark. The charms are handcrafted from 18 KT gold, sterling silver, Italian quality glass, natural pearls, precious stones and Swarovski crystals.

Sharon Gatlin, exclusive representative of the Trollbeads Collection, will be on hand Tuesday afternoon. Guests at the Trunk Show will be given a free bracelet with the purchase of a designer clasp during the event.

The event in Collections is free and open to the public.

Children's Consignment Sale

The Traveling Treasure Chest Children's Consignment Sale is coming to the Olmsted County Fairgrounds in Rochester. The sale will be at the 4-H building Friday, September 11th through Sunday, September 12th. The sale includes new and gently used clothes in infant thru junior sizes. There will also be maternity items, nursing items, prom dresses, dance clothes and shoes, as well as children/baby furniture and equipment, sporting equipment, books, dvd's, toys, and more. Fashion Show Returns to Peace Plaza

The Rochester Downtown Alliance along with Nood Reynolds of Rochester Magazine and contributing downtown businesses will bring a fashion runway show to life on the Peace Plaza in downtown Rochester on Thursday, September 16th. The Downtown Fall Fashion Show will start at 7pm with a happy hour before the show starts.

The show will have many exciting attractions ranging from 2010 trends on clothing, hair, makeup and accessories for men, women and kids. The event will also showcase the variety of fashionable choices available from locally owned businesses in downtown Rochester. And don't miss Rochester's own America's Next Top Model contestant, Rae, who is back from months of global runways and campaign shoots and will be featured in the show!
